Hi! I’m Ralph Daniel Sasse, pastor at Calgary Community Church. I love leading this warm, welcoming crew where everyone—lifelong churchgoer or just curious—is invited to grow in faith.
You’ll often find me walking around Montgomery/Bowness, hanging with my wife Claudia, our daughter Caroline, and our dog Freddie. I’m also a coffee enthusiast, so if you spot me at a local café, come say hi!

Service
What to Expect
We’re so glad you’re considering visiting Calgary Community Church! Here’s a quick guide to help you feel at home when you arrive:
🕙 How Long is the Service?
Our Sunday service begins at 10:30 a.m. and typically lasts about one hour. It includes worship, announcements, a relevant message from the pastor, and a time of prayer.
🎵 What is the worship like?
We sing traditional hymns accompanied by a piano. Our worship time is reverent and heartfelt, centred on lifting up God through classic songs of faith. Whether you’re familiar with the hymns or hearing them for the first time, you’ll find their timeless message meaningful.
👕 What Should I Wear?
We’re pretty casual! Wear what makes you comfortable, whether that’s jeans and a hoodie or your Sunday best.
🚗 Where Do I Park?
There’s plenty of parking available in our church parking lot, just steps from the main entrance. You’ll also find free street parking nearby if the lot fills up. No matter where you park, getting to the door is quick and easy!
♿ Accessibility & Inclusion
-
Our building is wheelchair accessible.
-
We welcome service dogs and understand that they are essential companions.
-
Prefer social distancing and masks? There’s plenty of space, including in our balcony area.
☕ Coffee & Connection
Arrive for free coffee and refreshments before the service—it’s a great way to meet others and connect with our community.
💝 What About Giving?
As a guest, please know you’re not expected to give; we are grateful for your presence.
There is a donation box at the back of the sanctuary for those who wish to support the ministry of Calgary Community Church. We do not pass an offering plate during the service.
📺 Not Ready to Visit in Person?
No problem! You can watch our services online every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on our YouTube channel and right here on our website. Missed a week? Past services are archived so you can catch up anytime.
What we believe
- The Scriptures are true, authoritative, and sufficient.
- There is only one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- All things exist for the glory of God.
- All humanity—Christ excluded—is sinful by both birth and action.
- The deserved penalty for sin is physical and spiritual death.
- Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human.
- Jesus Christ died as the sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin.
- Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will one day physically return.
- There will be a future physical resurrection of the dead. Only those who turn from sin and to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to eternal reward. Those who do not turn from sin and to Jesus will be raised to everlasting punishment.
- Only through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy.
- The gifts of the Holy Spirit exercised in the Scriptures have not ceased with the closing of the New Testament canon. They are available today and should be eagerly desired and practiced in submission to the Spirit speaking through the Scripture.
